Calling All Chocolate Lovers!

These simple yet delicious chocolate drop cookies are rich and fudge-like with chocolate buttercream frosting topped with chocolate sprinkles. If you’re a chocolate lover, this cookie is for you!

When I was little, my mother used to make these cookies for my dance class whenever we had a treat night. They were always a huge hit! They’re one of my favorite cookies by far.

Chocolate Drop Cookies

This recipe does give a small batch. It yields approximately twenty 3″ cookies. If you are feeding a crowd it’s best to do a double batch, but you will not need to double the frosting. If you are home and looking for a quick and simple dessert that doesn’t overwhelm you with quantity and guilt of eating lots of cookies, this is a perfect little recipe!

Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

One thing I found to be tricky is keeping the sprinkles on top of the frosting. Sometimes, they roll right off because of the cookie’s dome shape, but this can easily be fixed by adding more milk to your frosting to make it gooey. If you feel the frosting is already moist enough, try making the frosting as flat as possible on top.
